President Benigno S. Aquino III receives the athletes and officials of the Special Olympics Philippines (SOP) team during the latter’s courtesy call at the President’s Hall of the Malacañan Palace. SOP is a non-profit humanitarian organization, created to aid differently-abled individuals achieve their potentials through an organized year-round program of sports training, athletic competition, and recreation. The team won 22 gold medals, 49 medals overall during the competition participated by 7,500 athletes from 185 countries.
