Microsoft Philippines and Softrigger Interactive went immediately to work in building the new version of the Government Portal using Microsoft technologies so that SONA updates posted on STMIS were summarized and then seamlessly posted onto the Government Portal, without the previous duplicative work caused by certain technical incompatibilities.
With the new version of the Government Portal, Undersecretary Ricardo Saludo, together with the PMS Policy Group Directors and their staff, would be spared of having to proofread and edit the same material twice, initially for the STMIS and then again for the Government Portal.
Version 2.0 was presented to PMS Management in mid-October 2001 and was approved for live posting on October 19, 2001.
