MALACAŅANG Manila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 541 DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MARCH 1 TO 5, 2004 AS PURCHASING AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT WEEK WHEREAS, THE Philippine Institute for Supply Management (PSIM), is a non-stock, non profit organization of purchasing and materials managers of the country’s top corporation; WHEREAS, purchasing and materials managers and PSIM help upgrade the quality and competitiveness of Philippine goods and services both the domestic and foreign markets; WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by the purchasing and materials managers in commerce and industry be brought to the attention of the people; WHEREAS, the PSIM will celebrate its 12th National Convention and Exhibits this year called SUPPLYLINK 2004 with the theme "…Strengthening Alliances…Building linkages…Renewing Relationship". NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from March 1 to 5, 2004 as Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Week.
