On this very important occasion of the Department of Tourism’s 39th Anniversary, we pay tribute to the men and women who have worked tirelessly to build this institution that it is now. Tourism is all about optimism, confidence and momentum. We are keenly aware that we will succeed only if we are able to rally the entire department, tourism stakeholders, government agencies, and the general public around a very simple idea: Tourism is the people’s business. PHL brings “More Fun” to London

A May 8, 2012 press release from the Department of Tourism: The country’s new tourism campaign “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” was recently launched in London via double-decker buses, taxi cabs, and underground stations. The 25 double-decker bus and 50 black cabs sport a uniform design of the campaign slogan and logo and different faces of the Philippines. The subway stations, on the other hand, feature images of the Ifugao Rice Terraces and the Puerto Princesa Underground River, both proclaimed as World Heritage Sites. Continue reading

Tourism’s ‘More Fun’ logo bags best design in Adobo Design Awards 2012

A May 4, 2012 press release from the Department of Tourism: The country’s new tourism campaign logo, “It’s More Fun In The Philippines,” won the Grand Prix Award for Best Design for Corporate Brand Identity Category at the recent Adobo Design Awards 2012. The logo, which is a banig weave (local mat) that forms the map of the Philippines, was also judged as Best Design in the Logo Category, making it a double victory for the Philippine tourism brand that evening. PHL brings “FUN” to CNN

A May 3, 2012 press release from the Department of Tourism: The Department of Tourism (DOT) has released a new TV commercial (TVC) via global media giant CNN as part of its international campaign. The 30-second TVC material starts off by saying “We asked people why it’s more fun in the Philippines … .” and then features several creative memes, all of which were made and contributed by the public.
